Where is everyone #5

Had a pinion seal starting to slobber just a little bit. Thought maybe the seal was junked out from a loose pinion nut or the yoke was wore and grooved out not letting the seal ride on it.

Once I saw the nut was tight, I figure i really ought to check the preload on the bearings. They were just a little looser than I liked, so I decided to just overhaul it.

Some of those old Eaton 404 rears used a 2 piece bearing preload spacer, so I wanted to make sure it was updated to the single spacer setup.

 

Great pics. Neat info to know. Thanks for your input. Even though your week had a lot of frustration with the hurricane being a pain, I'm glad it wasn't worse. Not to mention that Major Attitude dude in charge of the KW shop. I hope your upcoming move to another state goes off without a hitch.
