Does the location noted in the aobrd or eld even matter anymore? Considering all it's really tracking is your driving time and when you're driving.
Oldironfan Thanks this. -
Originally, eld wasn't to have required supporting documents, that was scorched by enforcement, from Colorado, iirc. The give and take resulted in the definitions and speifications.
Does an officer need CVSA credentials to check your ELD or not? I don't get lots of interaction with them, so I don't know. Not complaining, mind you.
What I have found is it tracks every time motion if sensed and if the engine is started or stopped, and if someone moved the vehicle without logging in, it attempts to assign that movement repeatedly, even though it might be less than a football field in distance, plus, you have to log in to even check it after being off duty or on sleeper berth. Even if the computer never told it a door was opened, how did I get out and back in, climb out and back in through a window?Bank_Lbr Thanks this. -

So if it says that I am 20.5 miles SW of a town A but I do know that I am in a small population town B then do I have to edit it and change it to B, or not?
If so...then it stinks.Bank_Lbr Thanks this. -
I ask as I'm thinking you might be running in aobr mode. If that's the case your accuracy wound only need to be as accurate as paper logs require.
I.e. nearest city, town or village. -
A while ago they allowed an option to jack it up to 15 mph before it trips to driving. It will be locked down again Dec 2019 to 5.
When I am home mine shows me as ~70 km from a big city. There is a closer, bigger city, I don't know why it doesn't recognize it. I rarely change location notes, if 74.3 km sw of Town isn't accurate enough then I will see them in court. My town's population is less than 5,000. -

Noticing a lot of idiots creeping in or around truckstops, shippers & receivers at 3 to 5 mph. Are they really that hard up to get an extra 100 yards without tripping their elog? This practice is often a hazard.
Bank_Lbr Thanks this.
