    I don’t know if a .270 would be enough to drop a moose. Now, a .300 Win Mag or .338 Lapua might be plenty....

    My friend just got back to me, looks like @Oxbow wins the prize.

    His dad used a 338 and dropped it at 40 yards, so a little bit of overkill he said.
