Yes, thanks for that. True I don't run in the US, so that shouldn't apply to me. But even if I did, the privacy laws in Canada, and specifically Alberta (PIPA) should prevent that information from being disclosed without the employees consent.

Thank you for hosting me here for a brief time I learned a few things. You'all should come down here and do trucking. We don't fool around with names, they go by truck numbers here.

    HE HE HE.. ///tease.

  4. (d) A driver account must not have administrative rights to create new accounts on the ELD

So how does a one man operation work on his logbook at the office. If he cant edit his logs?

I seem to recall if you have less than 2 trucks registered as a private carrier, you are exempt from e-log legislation, but how that relates to subcontractors working for larger fleets? Your guess is as good as mine.

Pretty soon you'll have a choice when you get your commercial license. Drive a truck, or practice law.

Sorry, didn't notice this was in the Canada fourm.
Does Canada have good privacy laws? I know down here, we don't.

Would be interesting how Omnitracs (and well, all ELD's) would fix that and be compliant in both Canada and US for the drivers that do cross border. Maybe hide the information when on Canada HOS, and show it when US HOS is selected...

In either case it's way above my paygrade to fix. :)

    loadedlen and not4hire Thank this.

Canada has far stricter privacy laws than the us. To the op, I’m assuming your company runs into the us. They are probably making sure your compliant if you run stateside. If your Canada only, tell your boss you want your dl info removed because you didn’t consent to its disclosure.

That's why Trudeau is now having his government organs snooping into all our bank accounts, and tracking all transactions.

Well someone is going to have to pay for his vacations and play centers once the country fires his ###. Can't expect him to pay for them out of his "family fortune"
