Eric found another manufacturer willing to produce them for a price he was willing to pay. Should be available soon.
He said he'd call and let me know as soon as he got the first shipment.Diesel Dave and Timin770 Thank this. -
Someone explain the BIG deal about the powered mic..From my lil trials its no better(by my ear)than the ranger 198..What am i not seeing/hearing?
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Yeah, I'm usually shouting into the mike due to the noisy cabin, and any amplification of that from a powered mike might blow my transmitter
-
It's not a powered mic in the sense you're thinking.
It uses an electret element which requires a small amount of current to produce any usable output.
This in reverse is why stock mics from "little radios" like the Uniden 510/520 won't work on larger radios. Those mics have electret elements powered by phantom power on the audio wire, which the larger radios usually lack. (It also means that you can wire the SL41 to not need the battery on those little radios.)Timin770 Thanks this. -
It's the only element I can fit in this case.
The board fits inside also.
-
Is there gonna be any difference in them compare to the last batch he had made ?
-
I guess we'll have to wait and find out.
I'm assuming that Eric would like this new batch to be identical. He didn't mention any differences in the new batch -
Well, the SL41 didn’t do well on my radio, kept getting a squeal, Eric even sent me another one with his adjustment accordingly for my radio(he ask what i had and the set up)and it still squeal, so he told me how to make another adjustment and still didn’t work.
If I’m gonna pay some good money for an item, it should work properly, anyways, I will stick with my SRA 198...... I always get compliments on how crystal clear it is. -
Internal gain adjustment too high maybe?
