That would be cool man, I know we can't mention names so we will just call him Mr. C, seems like he would be a good dude to work for, he was the tm that interviewed me there, and you are right Mr. C even said he only had 7 line drivers at that time and hadn't had a extraboard driver for about two years very small terminal, your big advantage will be that you are with the company already and you should take priority over a outsider, that position opened again back in July but I don't know the status of it now, I got three former Estes co workers at Saia who still talk to some drivers there and they may know, I know Phoenix well that's a big yard and terminal, you guys are near our terminal over on Gibson, just like in Fontana and in Odessa lol. I started at .55cpm in June but then went .57cpm in July because they got their company wide raise, as of right now in our region it's .57 to start, top scale is .66 , you hit top scale two years from date of hire with the raises being every six months, oh and bennies are not bad either, company paid for short term and AD&D, it's $70 a week for me and my wife, vision, dental, medical, but I also took long term disability, life insurance, another AD&D policy that has a big payout, and some other crap, I did that though because in the big picture it's all so cheap so why not. Oh one other thing the only exception is California Saia line drivers, they are all paid hourly now, they are not paid CPM.

Out west here on I 10, I still see a good portion of internationals and some Volvos and Cascadias, but it seems like there is an increasing number of those three axle day cab KWs that Estes has now.

Up to is always sketchy lol. Hourly where I'm at, is pennies. If I translate CPM to Hourly, I'm on a sliding scale between $35-$41! Aren't the SAIA draconic rules annoying lol

Lol I know, I am acquainted with some of the California drivers because I have done meets with them, I have thought about asking one of them about what is the actual hourly and how it works out for them, but I haven't because I feel like I would be asking them personal finance stuff, however one did tell that he made more when he was on CPM, but he didn't divulge what he made hourly and I didn't ask, ah yes the rules haha, honestly the one that bothers me the most is the no phone and bluetooth while driving, there are times I could really use a phone conversation when I am tired and dragging, not mention it would be so much easier and save so much time if I could just answer the phone when central dispatch calls, but hey it's their rule so I abide by it, I find a safe place to park, set the brakes and call them back, as far the rest of the rules I have adapted, and to be honest it depends on what terminal you are based out of, some terminals are more over the top about enforcing the rules than others.

Hey TruckerFit, you probably already know this, but try not to stress on the slow down, you are with a #### good outfit and things will pick up again, got a couple friends that are at Old Dominion up in Reno and they have had a little bit of a slowdown there too, I think some of it is because of the hurricanes and stuff back east, plus Colorado just had a big storm too so freight is getting tied up, like I said in my other post we slowed down at Saia too, was balls to the wall all summer and then about the last week of September freight lightened up and miles got a little shorter.

Freight did slow tho. Week before last, I did 3100 miles. Last week, I only did 1893 lol. I wasn't mad. I enjoyed the light well. I've been running 2800-3300+ miles a week for a long time lol.
