20181016_120515.jpg 20181016_054058.jpg Could there be a worse interstate in the country? More crashes than imaginable. This morning someone in an Infinity drove up under the bumper of a parked semi on the side of the road and died. The driver of the semi was asleep. He was ticketed for illegal parking on the ramp. To this day...after having my CDL since 1997 or so.....the craziest CRAZIEST thing I have even seen in trucking....was a Nashville TN motorcycle officer pull out in to fast rush hour traffic on to a section of highway that was down to 2 lanes AND had no shoulders! I could not believe the chaos he had just created to catch a speeder I guess. I always imagine he is dead by now and I wonder if the paycheck/thrill was worth it to him.

And a few hours later this happens very near the last accident. No details yet. 20181016_060801.jpg

When isn't there a major backup on I24?

Get ready for them to ban parking on those inbound ramps.

I saw a couple Chicago trucks just pulled over on the shoulder just past the 19 last Friday. No triangles just running lights. They were there when I got back from 688 two and a half hours later. I think they just pulled on the shoulder for their break.

From what Fox 17 was saying this truck was sitting just like that. Look for stepped up enforcement through there.

It needs to be widened to three lanes from the 24 to the 35 and then 4 lanes to Brikey.

IDon’t know what it is about that interstate but it seems that IQ’s drop drastically when people run I-24,especially around Nashville. As I’ve said before you have to be on your guard running from Nashville to “The Chatt”!!
A few months back I had to run 24 west to Hendersonville,Kentucky, while going down the mountain on the S curve in Chattanooga a skateboard driver had lost a WOODEN PALLET,right in middle of the hammer lane!:eek:Everybody was dodging left and right to avoid hitting it. The guilty driver was parked on the shoulder near the 4th Avenue exit with a “Gee, how did that get there?”look on his face!! Obviously, load securement wasn’t one of that driver’s strong suits..:biggrin_25513:

I always try to do Nashville at either 5 am or noon. 8 am? 99% chance there's a crash somewhere.
I think it has a lot to do with all the lane changing and whatnot

    Lepton1 and mjd4277 Thank this.

It's been a while since I've been through that area but I've seen some crazy wrecks on that freeway. You're right about all the lane changes but speed can be big problem with some of the 4-wheelers trying to haul butt while towing U-Haul and travel trailers.
