Yeah there is quite simply ask them naturally your doing it for a lower price then them otherwise how are they going to make any money? Also ask the shipper what price they pay per load this'll give you some idea of the difference between what their paid and what they pay you. Whats in your contract ? Is there a said price you and they have agreed to run for?
Cheap freight ... Or manipulating prices?

Cheap freight is when you do a load and don’t ask what it pays. And if your asking ...... you don’t have a clue what you doing...... I’m not trying to bust your balls...... just saying it how it is.

No said price. I get 88% of each load and I'm riding the market right now

Because im not as seasoned as a lot of you guys is why I'm here asking questions. Dispatch says 600 miles 2800 bucks. I accept or reject. I know what that is per mile and the adjustment for the weight. I dont want to go below 2.25 per mile, even if I can balance it out end of week. Let me put it like this, what freight prices do you reject as unacceptable?

Companies that owner operators are leased onto are notorious for stealing money.
I know a guy that was in the contracting business and he ripped everybody off in his area.
He then was lucky enough to get a connection at the port to get all of the freight that he could ever handle. So he went into Trucking.
He has never been happier because in Contracting you have to find new customers to screw. He can keep the same customers and the same owner operators as long as the owner operators don't catch on. It's ongoing and everlasting revenue for him. And he keeps growing and growing.
He now has multiple satellite branches and off of every one of his leased trucks he steals everyday.
He has never been happier because he has now found an easier way to rip people off and he has the people in the office trained for what to do.
So at a young age he can go to his multimillion-dollar shore house on the water and drive his several hundred thousand dollar sports cars and all of the other stuff that he enjoys with all the money he ripped off from everyone.
He is the quintessential thief in this business. What a turd.Western flyer and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -

9x-10 the shipper won't tell you. If you feel like it's not right. It's not. Either your truck is being ran wrong (dispatch) or the company is double dipping.

(g) Copies of freight bill or other form of freight documentation. When a lessor's revenue is based on a percentage of the gross revenue for a shipment, the lease must specify that the authorized carrier will give the lessor, before or at the time of settlement, a copy of the rated freight bill, or, in the case of contract carriers, any other form of documentation actually used for a shipment containing the same information that would appear on a rated freight bill. Regardless of the method of compensation, the lease must permit lessor to examine copies of the carrier's tariff or, in the case of contract carriers, other documents from which rates and charges are computed, provided that where rates and charges are computed from a contract of a contract carrier, only those portions of the contract containing the same information that would appear on a rated freight bill need be disclosed. Talking about hauling cheap freight.
I'll show a screenshot of the one I just jerked back from the west coast to Richmond, Va.
Now, it's pitiful.. but keep in mind we are for the most part a private fleet and make the majority of our income on the outbound side distributing our product. The return load is to get the truck back to a location to reload with more of OUR higher paying freight and not keeping the equipment, and driver, tied up waiting on premium rates.
It can be a Catch22.
