About that shovel. I used one with a metal shovel that was basically square shaped and pretty flat and narrow. The kind for shoveling mulch if you know what I mean by that. It layed flatter on the floor of the storage box and being metal it worked better for what we are talking about here.

Thanks. I didn’t know how that worked. With the IRS taking away the per diem credit for company drivers, I’m seriously thinking of going per diem. Less payroll tax and same standard deduction, sounds like it’s a better deal to me now.

Well I’ll be ####,,,,, Lololol,,, good bbq hand. I stop there every time!
EDIT: There’s a little cstore across the street with a Mexican joint on the back of the lot. Truck parking just across the street in the hotel lot. Never mind the “We’ll Tow you sign in the truck lot”. They don’t mind if you park for an hour or so. Good TexMex food. -
On the CB thing, if y’all remember, I’m old school but I Just took a 30 year hiatus from driving. I would feel naked (and that ain’t pretty) without my squawk box on.
You guys are right, I really hate the crap that comes across the radio now but I reckon I’ve developed a keen (no pun intended) to what’s BS and what’s good info. We used to talk in all that crazy trucker lingo at 2 in the morning just to keep each other awake. We’d talk about family, vacations, fishing, hunting and of course the lady that showed us her “headlights”.
Even today there are a few of us left but moreso, I keep mine on for traffic. Nice to know when there’s a brake check 2 miles in front of you.JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this. -
After talking to my tax person she defintely feels its a good idea to take the company per diem offered. Not getting into that discussion however as I dont want @Steelersjunkie head to explode with another per dien discussion lmaoFarmer54 Thanks this.

Lmao it's all good, I'm used to it.

Agreed that CB has saved me numerous hours of sitting in a backup. I dont talk on it and usually keep it quiet enough to only hear when there is suddenly a bunch of chatter. But give me having to deal with the bs on the CB anyday over getting caught sitting in a traffic jam because I didnt know about it before hand and couldnt hit the shoulder and look for a way around the backup.
