I was around 2500-3000 a week during the summer, did have one 3300 one week in August, once the slow down hit in September I started seeing 1800-2200 a week, also we have that odd pay period setup, we get paid each week but payroll cutoff is Wednesday at midnight, so if you are on nights you hope to be dispatched before midnight on Wednesdays because if not that whole run will be put on the next pay period following and causing a short week ouch, but the next week will be killer lol.

Does Estes hire new drivers(Have CDL w/endorsements) without experience directly into Regional OTR positions? Looking at postings for Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Irving locations and they all say 2 years experience preferred, but not listed as a requirement. They also have driver trainee position listed for Ft. Worth terminal, but that looks like a dock to driver position for those looking to get CDL.

Couldn't hurt to try. Dallas is huge and money can be made there. I love Texas.
They may hire you as dock or jockey and train you on how to hook doubles. You have the requirements, so best believe you WILL be on some runs dawg.
Apply to everything they got in regards to driving. I don't think they'll turn you away.Lonestar87 Thanks this. -
Sounds good I'm ready to work! Been going stir crazy at home just putting in apps since getting CDL. Guess I'll apply for all 4 and see what happens. Worst they can say is no. Appreciate the quick response!

Having recently tried that approach, you must live within 70 miles of a terminal you apply to. Dock is probably an easier bet, as is regional.

Live within 70 miles for all positions or just trainee? I'm about 90-100 miles out(roughly halfway between Dallas and Houston), but don't have a problem relocating closer to either for the right offer.

HR said she would not consider me until my address was within 70.
