A year ago I could fill out one of those forms on the job hunting sites, the one that sends your app to about 50 different trucking companies, and the recruiters would be calling literally 10-15 seconds after I hit the "submit" button. I used to do this every couple of years so my employer would get barraged with phone call from interested parties for a few days. This usually got me a raise, or at least a temporary bump up in the amount of miles for the week.

I don't know if this site still works in this economy, but give it a try, google layover. (is that better, Lilbit?)

    Yup, you're right.
Also heard that retail sales have gone up 1%. Doesn't sound like a lot but it's better than the reverse. So, just maybe... :biggrin_25525:

ah, the insurance companies. of course. thank you.

how much time behind the wheel after 90 days out-of-school satisifies the insurance co for new CDL holders? unfortunately, my school does not offer free "refresher" drives.

but i did find 6 more nearby companies to try....

Well I haven't been online for awhile cause I had to take a job until I can find a trucking job. I am a Lot Tech at a local Motorcycle dealership, I mostly drive a Forklift..........lol

I am way overqualified for it but its a paycheck and I get to work around bikes so its pretty cool for now.
