Gotcha. I didn’t even notice the middle being a belly wrap till you said that.
One thing I never did like about hauling oilfield pipe. No chains allowed. Someone pulls out in front of ya and that crap is liable to be hangin out the windshield real quick like.

Nice, a tractor with history to the family. That’s fairly common with the 4430 I believe. On thing that really made the 4440 better was the jump to the 466 from the 404.

Yes I see some scary stuff coming out of the plant where I'm headed. They will heat this cherry red and actually stretch it till it's 5" or 8" in diameter and about 20' long or so. I've seen it loaded with the small diameter in the middle and bigger stuff on the outside, with just straps across it. Scares me just thinking what could happen.Shock Therapy, shogun, 1951 ford and 17 others Thank this.

I feel kinda sheepish asking you what those numbers mean. I know that locomotives have a code that translate into how many wheels they have and which ones are paired up and which ones are driven and which ones are free wheeling so I guess the tractors have a code like that ? I bet that several of you fellas could explain it a lot better than whatever explanation Google would spit out. Y'all think ya could make this uneducated Suburban Boy understand what them numbers mean ? I know that it's a big challenge and it's way too early to throw down such a big gauntlet but I figure it might be possible for y'all to accomplish the humongous task by the end of the month. Not that y'all won't have excellent explanations but I realize how dense I can be. Thanks and y'all have a great day today !Hurricane69, Shock Therapy, shogun and 11 others Thank this.
