Well I don't drink so DUI's shouldn't be a problem. Although my doctor told me that DUI's can apply to OTC meds, especially cold remedies so I guess I'll have to watch what I take if I get sick.

Only if the felony was for a violent crime - murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, etc. They'll give a thief who didn't use a gun a second chance.

Not to derail my own thread but I'm wondering about doubles / triples endorsement as well.

I have a possible pre-hire with Swift but the recruiter told me to get my doubles / triples endorsement. I'm a little nervous about that as I see those triples swaying wildly down the freeway all the time.

Are they as difficult to drive as they look? Should a newbie even be attempting it or am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?

    mountains out of mole hills...

they drive different but the go peddle and brake are in the same place and you'll get used to everything else.

    nice tracking around corners:biggrin_255:

im6, were allowed .04 while driving the truck. seriously. it applies to layovers if you were using the truck to bobtail to bars or whatever.

still .08 in your own vehicle. you go to scott in davenport for school? they dont clarify that too well.

Felony is not a bar to hazmat. It's not a second chance either, it's the same first chance everyone else gets to obtain it.

The first post says any not guilty BY REASON OF INSANITY. Of course if you are admitting in open court to being insane you're not going to pull hazmat.

You might want to recheck your facts there.

I believe that the .04 is for a CDL holder. period, end of story. No difference with the car or truck any more.

Hmm that raises an interesting question. If you're correct and you get pulled over while off duty with any detectable level below 0.04 would they give you an Out of Service order for 24hrs just as they would if you were on duty?

HazMat used to be fun to haul. I hauled fuel in the Dallas metroplex for about 5 years, then did about 4 years of hauling crude oil. When I renewed my DL last October, I had them remove the X endorsement. Good riddance.
