I have gotten a few of those favor loads. And every time the planner sends me a 50 dollar thank you Bill lol.
Think they realize that's the best way for drivers to take the load.Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
So far I really like being at Inver Grove terminal.
I was assigned a new DM because my first one took ill. She will be OK but they handed me over to someone else.
I called her today (which is only the second time we have spoken, and we still have not met each other) to inquire about 'comfort zones'. Well, I only had one option for a comfort zone and it was not to my liking. Nothing west of Denver, but everything east from there. That is exactly how I've been running since I went there, so I saw no advantage. And I like getting to Salt Lake sometimes, along I-80, so I can find my pipe tobacco.
Then she mentions that I had no pplan as yet, and proceeds to look for something.
I told her where I like to run and asked for something a bit west of OH. I hate getting stuck in the east or deep south, which is where I've been. (I know, just like the far west...)
She found a load to El Paso that I liked. 105 miles empty and ~1600 loaded, delivering on Monday morning.
That should take me SW and along I-44 through Misery, where I can also stock up my tobacco. (And possibly get my sister another carton of her cigs. They are SO expensive in MN.)
The people at IGH are so helpful.
I am used to the good DM team from Otay Mesa, but these folks really go out of their way to make me happy.
I have never had more interaction with the TM than I have had at IGH, or the FM. Never even really knew their names, much less spoke with them, from either Fontana or Otay. At IGH, from the first day they were faces and voices that were very interactive with me.dptrucker and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this. -
I had no problem with the people I worked with at Swift. They were the main reason I stuck around as long as I did.dptrucker Thanks this.

Morris il at the t/A.
Delivered that load to Wilmington and picked this load up across the street.
Delivers tomorrow at 1400 in coon rapids Mn.
On the way to my delivery they kept sending prepla s while I was driving lol.
First one I refused cause it picked up at 9pm tonite. 2nd o e the sent I refused cause it ended up in Vermont. Not going there lol. Did my 30 minute break there. (Rest area).
About 10 minutes after I left they sent me the 3rd ones. Lol
So I pulled into a road ranger and looked at it
It was 3 preplans. This one. 2nd one and 3rd one I think I couldn't do so I accepted this one and refused the others.
I think it was a packaged deal and dl said to do what I did I see what happens .
They didn't remove this one so this is what I got lol.Last edited: Oct 23, 2018

I hate being stacked with pplans, and 3 deep is just plain stupid. Too much can go wrong, and those stacks always rely on perfect and very tight timing.
Maybe the planners think they are doing us a favor with those deals, but in my opinion it adds nothing but stress. I don't want to think about and plan 3 loads in advance.dptrucker Thanks this. -
dinner at R place at the t/A here in Morris il
scottied67 and MysticHZ Thank this. -

So true.
I was getting confused (Not hard lol) and was in A bit of a hurry to get going.
Did a quick adding of hours i get back and the total mileage
and if I didn't have to fuel, pretrip, loading, or unloading... I could have done it. -
I have 1.45 left on 70. Getting back 8.40, 5.30, 9.20 the next 3 days.
I really hate running recap hrs. Need to get rid of this 70 hr rule
