Hey guys you might remember me. Had thoughts of becoming owner operator with so much gusto lol. Im not really focusing on that per sey at this time but more my next two years in trucking. I have given thought to becoming a frac operator in the oilfield and living in the man camps if the pay is right. I like this job so far, but i dont like being sedentary all the time. I figure when we me and my team driver get our time in and split then I will know what it is really like to be a trucker out here on my own. The most stressful part of this job is managing the HOS. Especially for two people. We are basically driving 8 and a half hours a day and runnong off recaps. It can be stressful. We made a few errors not logging off properly, luckily i figured out how to split the time and fix any issues and that wont happen again. I think i would like it better solo because then i could workout and manage a real schedule and feel more refreshed with real sleep with the truck not moving. Last week we ran over 5000 miles. Im hoping for a decent check. Almost all of our runs hae been east, upper east for amazon. Ky, pa, ct, nj, va, etc... We have been on the road for exactly two weeks. I got kind of pissed off trying to find parking on PA the other night. Luckily found a rest area with one bit of shoulder left. My plan i have right now is to get my letter for my hazmat which is waiting at home then take tanker test same day and get both endorsements. Ky company has a hazmat tanker position which pays awful average 50,000 a year but it will get me tanker experience then in 9 months ill have one year in from my hire date here and im thinking switch to cp energy since i live in OK. From what I read drivers are making good money there. Hazmat tanker seems to pay well. So im interested. My plan is to save for a cheap rv, i need a new used truck something decent and then when cp energy time is up at after one year ill have two years experience then i can go work in the oilfield as a company driver or owner op if i have my own truck by then. We still dont have inverter, microwave, or fridge yet. :(. Im grateful for the experience im getting. I was trained on manual, but my partner drives auto. I may stay auto so much easier in traffic and can focus on the drive and turns more. Any suggestions on anything from you experienced guys greatly appreciated. My first decent check should be this week. My big purchase.. A bt headset. Drive safe guys. - the rookie

You live in Oklahoma, so take a look at Seaboard Transport; this company has tankers and reefers.

The blue truck in the picture is pulling a refrigerated container, probably headed to a seaport for an overseas destination.
