Thanks for the luck and yes I used getting about 5.5-6 for mpg. Iam doing the lease with more intentions towards just running and not buying the truck. A lot of folks will shake their head at me but I need a escape from Ryder local and their willing to give it. I can’t go back to being a straight company man and am just at my wits end with a lot in my life. Their price of the money paused out to buy the truck but nothing cheap when you don’t put skin in the game to be burned if you fail. Will see how it turns out and my accounts will be honest of how Iam treated with my choices thrown into those facts it will be interesting but not all of us have tones of choices and personal I feel their a better choice than some of the megas out here..... so will see

Hey man, I think it could be a good choice. I was crunching their numbers just today. I like their truck payment scheme of $145/wk + 23cpm.

So many LP's fail because the fixed costs add up on a 2 day break that turns into a 4 day break. WFX makes it a little easier.

I just wish they paid a percentage of the freight rate. Getting $1.07/mi on high dollar lanes would frustrate me.

    Here's some math:
    Costs:
    ((125,000mi/yr)(0.23cpm trk payment + 0.12cpm maintenance)) ~ [$44,000yr]

    + (($145/wk trk payment + $200/wk fixed costs) *52) ~ [$18,000yr]

    + ((125,000mi / 7mpg)($3.50gal - $0.25gal discnt) ~ [$60,000yr]

    Total estimated costs ~ ($122,000yr)

    Rev:
    Gross rev ~ ((125,000mi)($1.09/mi)($0.25mi/fsc)) ~ $167,000yr

    $167k - ($122k) ~ $45k before taxes

As a sole proprietor your tax liability will be pretty low on $45k... Maybe $2k after 20% skim, new $12k deduction and ~$16k per diem.

Drive more miles and get better fuel mileage. I usually do more than 125k/mi. And I usually calculate off 8mpg with a new freightliner that avg's 9mpg.

Do their 2year LP on a 500k truck and you'll be able to use their 12cpm maintenance fee more often . ..

Good luck, I look forward to hearing about your experience there.

Only thing your missing out of that is a .01 increase in rate every 6 months of service on freight rate and was told by a current driver theirs a .30-.60 fsc on total dispatched miles for the week which helps on the above mentioned. All and all being all things have been told to me are and complete and told in full I should net .60-.70 cpm on dispatched miles in my figures.
This on a avg 2800 mile week should gross me a profit of around 1600-1700 per week of full running and around high 70k low 80k per year.
I will say it’s not a get rich quick lease. It’s a get out of it what you put into it lease and Can go home and not be -2k in the whole when you come back out. It will take 6 yrs to completely pay for a truck to own it roughly. But if Iam with them more than two I figure their treating me good enough getting a truck paid for is just a bonus.

It honestly frustrates me the level of people’s ..... not sure the word to use. Expecting a no money down lease with avg credit for a amount of equipment that is valued higher than a lot of houses I could by buy that they could walk away from whenever with no reprocutions and make 90k a year. I am willing to work hard. It’s a walk away lease. No money down. Everything provided except my butt in a seat setup that could be mine if I worked hard and put in the hard work. With the added bonus of company backing at no cost. To live the American dream you have to work hard as hell for it and make it happen off the sweat of your own brows.

I figure $1500net/wk would be what to expect on a lease purchase program.

The $200/wk is a guess at their nickel and dime charges. A wfx recruiter told me to expect $300/wk fixed costs, including the $145 truck payment... I rounded up.

The added fsc would be good.

It sounds like the freight and lanes are good and nice.

    Go for it!

Sounds like you got everything figured out 60 to 70 cents a mile profit $80,000 a year in your pocket, then you keep the truck after 6 years makes you wonder why they would even have to advertise for drivers you would think drivers would be standing in line waiting for the next driver to retire.

Because that’s 5 years of hard work to get to that point with no gaurentee they can make it. Plus theirs sometimes the hard choice of staying out and missing things, and a lot of people look at LP programs as automatic scams. Iam gonna try to have enough saved after 2-3 years saved for down payment and such to in marrie myself from the company.
