Those were the 2 options after going to court with a attorney. “Unsafe driving” can only be used once every 5 years. I used it in 2014.
Thought about going to trial and getting it tossed out but that’s taking a chance of the state trooper shows up to the hearing.

If you are eventually fired, let us know. there's some 2nd chance companies that may hire you.
If you're an owner-operator, post on the owner-operator thread and maybe get some advice there.Last edited: Oct 25, 2018

As of right now it’s a no brainer to take the 2 point ticket with a improper lane change as cell phone guilty plea is automatic termintion.
However, I’m waiting to hear back from my insurance company to see if it makes a huge difference in the rates going up if i pick the latter -
Improper lane change can be considered a major violation.
Long story......don’t ask me.ncmickey Thanks this. -

Good luck driver. You are balenced squarely between that rock and hard place

I would not worry about the insurance too much, considering the stack of tickets I had in my day the State provided liability coverage for me when private insurance refused to in those days long ago. Now adays I can insure like a thousand cars no problem compared to back then.
So I'll take the two points and lane ticket. It's no big deal.
Now the cell phone ticket, that one I was told carries a 7500 dollar fine but since it's second hand hearsay I cannot point and say that's the fine. It's probably something else. In any case the economic losses will exceed that amount if you are fired and then unhireable for a while for that reason.
I don't have anything else to say good or bad. You cannot unring the bell of those citations. It might be worth a lawyer to get involved here. Im pretty sure the courts want money more than anything So if you pled to having roaches where they don't belong as long you coughed up the cash it's all good.
I had recieved a ticket not too long ago where my vehicle registration (Tags) were expired 9 months. That was a difficult year what with the cancer treatments and so on. The State Trooper cut me a huge break but had no choice other than to write the citation here in Arkansas for 220 dollars. I drive across town to the local police dept and paid the cash at their window and handed the ticket to go with it like 4 minutes after the stop was closed.
It was treated as a contribution to the local teddy bear fund. So no points, no formal gulity anywhere. Because it was paid so fast the state did not pursue it any further. All I can think of is there is a awful many happy kids with teddy bears in difficult situations for a while. And the tags etc were renewed two minutes after that. That's my story anyway. You will pay something. gauranteed when this is over. -
