Yes that's another landstar thing when they get a super great contract they buy trucks and keep all the profits and pay a driver slave wages to cover the contract

Do you mean staying completely within Or/Wa?

Just ran a search on the LS load board. For dry van loads picking up and delivering without leaving Or/Wa during the next five days there were 17 loads ranging from $3.22 to $7.27. Don't know if you think that's good or bad, but that's what there is at the moment.

Scooter Jones and OnTheLevel357 Thank this.

Landstar takes too much of your profit 37% there are smaller companies that do the same thing as far as helping with authority, permits, fuel card and a bonus that landstar doesn't have some smaller companies will be looking for your next load while you are busy driving and delivering

Yes, I like to stay on the I-5 Medford to Tacoma. As I said, I like to be home over 20 nights a month as well.

No convenients , your able to drive and deliver your load in the morning and with no time available for anything else your dispatch is finding different options for you to choose from . With landstar while you are waiting to get empty in the morning instead of making coffee you are busy scanning the load board looking for available loads and hoping there will be no bait and switch going on

I guess LS has a different loadboard for their in house guys than what I can access as an asset based carrier?

I signed on to the LS carrier loadboard today and couldn't find any loads in the next cpl of days on my lane, much less anything that was over 3.22 to 7.27 a mile.

Maybe a LS guy would be willing to cut & paste like the first 10 loads on my lane for say the next 4 days so I can see it with my own eyes.

    DSK333 Thanks this.
