anyone familiar with this outfit? They are a gas hauler out of Mt. Olive, NC but have several locations. Looking at the Greensboro, NC terminal, since it's 2-3 miles from my house. Put in an application and within 10 minutes later got a call back....yeah I kind of have a good driving record. But need to call terminal manager and see what kind of schedules are available. He did say it pays by 'the load'. Is that good or bad? I've only been used to CPM kind of pay in the 6 years I've been driving. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

that would be awesome of you. Thank you. I need to call a terminal manager tomorrow and talk to him. I like it where I'm at now. But, things aren't looking so great, plus I was thinking of going local with some tanker experience under my belt....but, if it's a great gig and I can make close to what I'm doing now(according to their website I can make just as much, even more, but we all know how 'they say something'!), I might just jump on it.

Anyway lemme ask around town. It's been 3 months since I seen any of their trucks at all and they are usually at the Friendly Mart gas stations. I believe Pope owns those.yankatank Thanks this. -
from looking online...looks like an average salary for a driver is between 55-70K. Not bad, but I've also read alot of the place aren't all that fun getting in and out of. I'm thinking that kind of goes with most gas haulers.

I've been with them a little over a year. perfectly happy so far.

In charlotte they do like 5 or 6 loads a night. Lot of circle k's dont really venture that far from charlotte. The ones I see at the rack here seem happy.

I don't know anything about pope. I pulled fuel in south florida. Load pay is the normal in fuel hauling around this area. I worked nights and loved load pay. If I ever worked days hauling fuel, I would require hourly because there are just too many delays in the daytime. But at night, you can just bust loads out left and right, and no stress involved.

well, something to look forward to in the future. Seems the Terminal Manager and I couldn't get in touch with each other(he kept calling when I was out, and I returned his call only to get VM, which I left messages). Got an e-mail saying thank you for the request and to please try again in the future. I know my record is great, just sucks we never could 'talk/meet'...which is what the call was. Might just try again next year...who knows?
