Leave the emotions at the door, the driver picked what was best for his/her family.

I don't think he owed ya company anything, to be honest.

Unfortunately there's a big chunk of this story missing i'd love to hear the other side of the story as well, yes perhaps he used your boss to get his CDL although you'd think he'd at least stay for 6 - 12 months minimum, so there must be something that made him want to leave.

I thought you talked in the past about your boss paying low wages, not keeping up the equipment, etc. I wouldn’t feel one bit sorry for him if that’s the case.

well my boss convinced him to stay, he is leaving the farm pickup work and going to be doing regional transport. i guess the real thing was fear of heights going on top of the tankers. he will be driving a 2018 T880 sleeper truck with an automatic.

my boss takes good care of the mechanical end of the equipment but the cosmetics of the tankers not so much. they have their fair share of dented skins and fenders. i used to have to drive trucks that had cosmetic damage from other idiots hitting things at plants, but i now have an almost new truck and i keep it that was. i DO NOT hit things. it's call pride in your ride. a dented and bruised truck is an embarrassment.

i make pretty good money on my route, my complaint which remains is the detention pay which stinks. luckily i dont have to do very many plant deliveries. the detention pay is only $10 per hour after 2 hours, and it is now less then minimum wage.

i will say at least my boss works with people. he is not a bad guy to deal with.

i like nice looking equipment, and at least my truck is decent looking. keep it that way lol

farm pickup work requires that you climb on top of the tanker to both monitor the loading process AND seal the tanker. seals ensure the load wont be tampered with until it arrives at the plant. the milk receiver will verify and break the seals.

Every day, you see someone post about their rotten luck, things they're dealing with, mistakes they've made in the past, etc and challenges they face to get their CDL and find someone to hire them.
This driver, according to the original post...
    -had previous CDL experience supposedly
    -had to get it reinstated
-had to take 4 tries to pass a road test
-needed the boss to 'help him pass'

There's nothing about him that sounds like quality. Not one thing. Then he wants to quit and go to JB Hunt and the boss begs him. He's a loser. A loser that has someone begging him to stay.

This reminds me of women I've known in the past who have a guy that's "in between jobs." This one particular woman was working 2 full time jobs, to pay for her husband to go to school. Guess what he did when he got out of school (the college course he was taking)? 3 guesses. Can anyone tell me?

    HE LEFT HER ARSE!

"How could he do that to me? After all I did for him...he got a new girlfriend and everything. After all the sacrifices I made for him!"

You KNEW he was a snake...why are you surprised about the snakebite?

"Well, the boss convinced him to stay..."

One snakebite isn't enough for some people.

"Six, you don't understand. He has a fear of heights."

That would work the first day, maybe the first week. 2 months later? Pardon my mirth.

    "Six, you're an A Hole!"

True, but I'm not a snake.
