when i see a landstar load i don't even waste my time calling them. I called on quite a few loads with LS over the years and never have I received a rate that I didn't find totally insulting. Many times the rates are partial rates for full TL load. I don't even bother calling anymore.

Evidently you have to be part of the LS family in order to receive those special, high paying loads.

Everyone else just gets the scraps off the master's table.

The only load I booked from LS was my 3rd load booked ever and that load turned out to be a double brokered load of which the original broker was ...C.H. Robinson. Embarrassing.

Check out their open deck loads: I haven’t looked on a load board in a long time, but they were the only ones I ever saw offering oversized partials.......

Caught 'em double brokering last week. We haven't completely shut them down because the LS O/Os do pretty good work, and my guy was in a pinch. Guy showed up to my shipper with a non-LS truck, which, okay, we rolled with it. Coworker was covering me - I was out on my honeymoon, I got married a couple of weeks back. What we didn't find out is that the LS agent didn't tell them that it was a dedicated shipment. So I got back from my Honeymoon, last monday, and I get a call from my customer - "Hey, PPDCT, my guys are down there... and that truck never showed." Had him send me the picture he took of the side of the truck... Ran the MC through our system, and sure as ####, not only did this guy broker out the shipment to someone else... he brokered it out to a carrier we had a partial on, on the same lane, and didn't tell them on that. He actually sold the load for a $700 difference, which was more than we stood to make on it. Called the carrier, and he was understandably pissed.

    Shenanigans ensued.

I picked up a load of shingles for a LS agent a few weeks back and XPO was on the papers. I was also instructed to say I was an XPO truck.
