If memory serves me correctly that truck has the same v-16 setup as Charlie Werner's extra-extended hood 359 has. There was also a red 359ex somewhere around Lake Station/Hammond, IN that ran that same motor as well. I don't know what the grand-kids have done with Charlies but last time I seen it was around 2005 when we had a dealer open house/bike show at Werner Cycle Works there in front of the headquarters in Omaha. Was quite a sight, every piece of aluminum polished to a mirror and every other piece of metal not aluminum or stainless is chromed. Engine sounded like an old cammed up, hillborn injected, 6-71 blown, straight cut cam gear big block on alcohol.
Was also the weekend I learned just what complete pieces of shiet the guys from Orange County Choppers were building on national TV. The children and grand children of Charlie Werner spent $250k to have them build a Werner Truck bike for Charlie. Bike never ran, was never ridden because no matter how much time the mechanics at the bike shop spent on it, it wouldn't make it out of the service bay without crapping out. 4 of Big Dog's R&D engineers had rode up on test bikes for the weekend so they pulled it into the shop and went to work on it. Finally Sunday afternoon they got it all back together and one of the Werner boys actually took it out on I-80 for a ride. They then turned around and asked us to build the old man a one of a kind bike. We did, had over $20k in just airbrush work on it when finished. I wish I had got more/better pictures of it before we took it to him but unfortunately this is the only one I can find in my archives.

On another note, still in Savannah, GA. My sister lives in Charleston, she drove down yesterday and we spent the afternoon drinking tea at Logan's Roadhouse and walking around the outlet mall. We lost our brother Thursday night from liver cancer due to Hepatitis C so all of you on here my age/generation, please see your doctor and get tested. Our brother never got tested, never had any signs of anything wrong till all of the sudden he had liver cancer. Hep C is a silent killer and you'll never know you have it till it's too late if you don't get tested. Ted would have been 68 next month, was retired Navy and in otherwise excellent health. He should have lived a lot longer, our father just celebrated his 91st birthday on Friday so we waited till this morning to tell him because our step family was having a big celebration for him yesterday. He is pretty crushed right now, just keeps saying he shouldn't have outlived his children.

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer on this fine Sunday evening but probably 95% of our So-Cal loads go straight up I-5 to the Seattle area

On behalf of the staff here at TTR and as much of the community that doesn’t mind my presuming to speak for them, we offer our prayers and condolences.
I could never imagine how it must feel for a parent to have to bury his child. That kept me going through even my lowest times when I felt like checking out. I could never inflict that on my parents.
