@Heavyd Well, put the other ecm on. Cranked, and it fired right up! So we’ll be taking the ECM that international programmed back to get re-programmed. I cannot thank you enough for all of your help.

Glad to hear you finally solved it. I am also sorry you experienced this. I can understand the frustration and wasted time involved. Generally they provide good products. I hope they are able to make it right with you!!!

Heavyd - I just joined and don't know the posting yet. I have a question about a Maxxforce DT and a no start condition. Truck has 2 new fully charged batteries , but only sees 9 volts at the computer. While cranking engine that drops to 2 volts and then to Sub-System Error on scanner.
-
That is some significant voltage drop! Heavyd's June 17 post on testing power and ground to the ECM with the head light load might help you isolate where the voltage drop is happening.
Heavyd Thanks this. -
Yep, check your ecm power harness from the batteries, fuses connectors and relays along the way. Lots of spots for bad, burnt, corroded connections to cause this. Don't forget about grounds too.

Still Nothing! Feel as I am somehow not heading in the right direction.

If you have a computer that you can watch the voltage the ecm is getting, set up the computer so you can watch it and wiggle wiring at the same time. Start at the batteries and wiggle the harness along the chassis all the way up as far you can see it. Pay close attention to any connectors, fuse holders and relays. Watch the computer for any voltage changes.

Exactly what I did next and found a burned wire I missed the first time around. What a pain in the butt this one was. The wire to one of the 2 relays, on the left side firewall, was burned solid black. Pulled it apart and cleaned it real good and was able to get the truck running. I ordered a couple new relays and plugs so I can replace them both tomorrow. Thanks a lot for your input on this. Made me go back and look a little harder. I appreciate it.

Love to hear success stories!
spsauerland Thanks this.
