Where is everyone #5

Wieberg Implement is the IH dealer there in town, right next to the Sheriff's Dept. Mexico used to have two of the largest fire brick plants in the world 5 miles apart that employed 1000+ each, union jobs, and now they're both closed up. It's kind of depressing going back now knowing how prosperous it once was for a town of 12,000 people. My folks still live north of town so we go back a few times each year.

What happened?

Little town I grew up in (@wore out knows where it is I think) is kinda the same way. Used to have several businesses and manufacturing plants. Mamaw used to work at the Ace comb plant there (remember those “unbreakable” combs they gave out on picture day? You know, the ones we all bent back and forth for a week until they finally broke cuz we could not admit defeat and just HAD to prove em wrong.)

Not much left there as far as employment these days. Sad. I hear the meth got real bad, lots of folks got out. Ain’t been through there in a few years now. Last time I was, it sure didn’t look like I remembered it.

 

I heard they closed the Bearcat diner too

Starting today...flight 251 offering two trips daily from Sage Creek Corrals at Chicken Creek to Aragonite.

This is the beginning of the fall move here. It's going to be busy for the next few days.

 

Ok have a rant early this am. Why do these kids think I wanna hear their turd diesel pickup with a stack rev up as the pass you putting that annoying sound of a tiny diesel in my window? UGH!
