Good evening guys and gals, do any of you happen to know of good operations that use power only independent contractors for overflow holiday stuff?
My oil field stuff is slowing down for the fourth quarter looking for some good shirt term work. Oh preferably in Texas region.
Thx
Seasonal overflow loads.

Here is the thing, are you in the long game? If you are, then you continue to service your customers during slow times. Those that do get the first call during the boom times.
The fourth quarter is also a great time to take vacation and get that engine rebuild, if you socked away stacks of Benjamin's during the first three quarters. -
If he stacked Benjamins he wouldn't be looking for work.Lepton1 Thanks this. -

Are you an owner operator leased onto a carrier, or do you have your own authority? That's an important question.
There ARE power only loads available from Laredo or El Paso. They pay about $200 to deliver a trailer to somewhere in the upper Midwest.
Whaaaaatttt!!!??
Yep, you heard me right.
The catch is you have about three weeks to make delivery of a clean EMPTY trailer and they don't care how many loads you haul between picking up the trailer and making delivery. As long as you have insurance to cover it, you can see what dry van, reefer, etc. have to offer for two or three weeks.
Power Only for oilfield pays considerably more, especially if you have tanker and Hazmat. I ran three loads in two days a few days ago on PO basis that required Hazmat and tanker endorsements. Two days work for a normal week's settlement.
If you are leased to an oil field company, check and see if their sales folks are humping for power only.Socal Xpress Thanks this. -
Thanks for the replies, yes I'm an owner operator with own authority, albeit only for 6 months. I have been trying different things to find a niche built up for when this frac sand really runs dry. I also have two rigs leased to a frac sand company that I've been with for 3 years.
I've mainly been running sand my my truck to glass plants and helping out with overflow frac sand transfers with the guy my other trucks are with. Broker I was pulling glass sand with lost that gig.
So yeah had a friend get linked up with a gig back and forth from latedo to Dallas a couple years ago from November till Christmas that was pretty sweet. Just exploring options, thanks for comments.Lepton1 Thanks this.
