Receiving clerk said SRT did not request a pre-loaded trailer. But on the driver's end it said pre-loaded trailer.

But the Appt time is the pre- loaded or live load ready time to either do a D&H or get live loaded. I would never go to a shipper 7 hrs before my appt time expecting a preloaded trl unless told it was loaded early.
If the dispatch has a 24hr window then it should be ready on that date, but a set appt mean to come in at that time.
And I could give a rats ### what shipping says, they lie as much as the rest. If your not directed to go in before a set appt, it on your dime if you have to wait At least thats my experience

I am not going to take Bigblue19 or Pigsooie's side on this trailer problem. I see several problems.

1- Dispatch failed to communicate adequately to a driver.

2- Dispatch failed to convey the situation in sufficient detailed resolution for driver to function as the agent of the company in the field at the shipper or reciever or wherever.

3- Driver does not know the exact Factual situation regarding a load. When that happens there is a loss of time, fuel, money, energy, awake time and overall negative to go around and splash on all concerned.

4- No one gave the driver a exact situation regarding appointment time to load etc.

5- The driver is unnecessarily limited in function or "Captain of the Ship" decision making. For example if that driver showed up 12 hours or whatever amount of time EARLY to a shipper expecting a load then that is good. But it is also bad when you look at my list one through four above.

6- No company should excessively micromanage people or drivers. That truck has to be somewhere to load. Let's get it done. Anything else is BS, burnt wasted fuel, wasted communications, wasted satellite time, wasted effort and on and on and on.

7- Dispatcher MUST understand that whatever it is THEY KNOW to be FACTUAL, Take a #### minute and TALK to the DRIVER as a TRUSTED TEAMMATE. Not a Underlink to be barked at and shoo'ed off like a annoying child underfoot in the kitchen.

8- Did I overlook or miss information or totally shoot my mouth off for nothing? The reason I listed this the way I did, is because some of my most famous stories in trucking stems from a Dispatcher who mistreats me badly. (OR... I MIGHT MISTREAT HIM or HER most particulary through my own stupidity and ignorance)

A company and it's People, Leadership and all concerned working for same can turn into a true powerhouse fostering a team effort by SHARING INFORMATION TO AND FROM DRIVERS. NOT retaining information or failing to actually get off big chair and seeking out answers to questions left blank about a load. If Mr Monkey knows nothing, Sees nothing, Hears nothing and says nothing Guess what? The whole Zoo is going to get crazy.

I don't know about you all, But I seriously resent and enrage when a Zoo Express goes off the roadway entirely because SOMEONE DID NOT TELL ME A #### thing about something related to a very important revenue generating load THAT DOES NOT YET EXIST.

I have quit employers in the past for that reason. If you cannot, will not or refuse to treat me as a team member with one goal, that is to provide a revenue service for a living for the Company's Success, my own livelhood and keeping the Customers HAPPY above all.. THEN Eff all this. I'll walk.

Rumor Has It: That a driver took a driver managers position where he bought medical insurance with long-term and short-term disability. Then he had to take a 30-day medical leave but 6 day's before the end of the 30 days HR - Human Relations calls him and says he is terminated for not calling into work? After he has contacted the company many times. Is this not grounds for a justifiable lawsuit?

I got to the point very quickly to being a team of me, myself & I. A team is only as good as it's weakest link & in my experiences that was usually the customer service dept. And I'm not gonna trust a person to generate revenue for me, when they are guaranteed to get paid either way & they got a 2 day wknd ahead of them.
As a piece rate driver you trust nothing that can have fubar attached to it. To much has to go right to not cost time & or money so you learn the ropes quickly & become able to identify the red flags.
One example would be people who asked me over & over at 1 company why they scheduled a 0001 appt time? Well odd numbers mean there's no appt made yet. But their DM would tell them it says 0001 is your appt time
The load might say preloaded but through experience you know they don't have a trailer pool agreement so you call & make sure they have a trailer to load & they inform you they need a mty to load. If you call the DM they will say it shows preloaded trl here on my screen
Heck I would get directions to shippers that had moved to a different address 5 yrs ago & no one updated it even after sending dozens of loads to the wrong address.. I happened to be 1 of them so I just shook my head & went to the right address.
My load are so easy now they have 1 of 3 pu & delivery times & the bol don't change till the last 2 numbers & go from 1 to 50 then cycle back to 1. No one wants fubar when your on the clock.
