If you play your cards smart. Get one years experience. No tickets or accidents. You stay talking on this forum. You run like you say you want to.
You have O/O’s hanging out here. They’re looking for drivers to help while helping themselves. They’ll go out. Buy a truck for you. Sell that truck to you. You make the payments. They’ll set you up in what they do. Hold your hand so to speak.
At that point. You’ll have it made. A $900 student loan payment will be nothing. Yes the O/O will be making money off you for a few years. But somebody is going to be making that or more off you.
    Play your cards smart.
Forgot to mention. Payments you make on that truck will be something like:; $1600 a month. That is for owning the truck You an O/O. Not like Prime. They will pressure you to lease at $900 a week. That’s ridiculous.

I'm at about 2 months OTR with a mega (dry van) and the shipment earnings on my last check was $1225.

That's the only time I've been over a grand. Hit the 900's once.

$900 per month on student loans? Jesus!! Firstly, you have to call and get that lowered, yes it can be done. $42000 per year in trucking is pretty much the money you will make if you're paid under 40 com your first year. These days, I'm hearing rookies getting more, right out of school.

Yeah. OP reefers is a good option starting out, and to make 60k+ team up with another guy. Keep that truck moving day and night. You get paid for all miles driven, so even when you are in the back sleeping.

FFE has several divisions you can choose from depending on what you are looking for. The best money is probably in plasma. You are paid good miles plus every pick up and drop off. It adds up pretty quick.

What i like is that they dont ask for free favors, excluding fueling and pretrips, if they ask you to do anything extra you are paid accordingly. In the past when I worked hourly or salary jobs I would just work harder and go home more tired, but my check never really changed. Not the case here.

Only on the east coast. I think I"ve only heard of one winner on the west coast.

East Coast beach is nice for looking at as you walk to the store to buy Powerball tickets.

West coasters walk to the store, see the beach and never make it to buy tickets.

I wouldn't so optimistic fellas business has been slowing down the truck to load ratio is near 2016 levels it appears as if rates/pay will be dropping soon.

Get one year experience anywhere. After that most LTL companies will take you. Run linhaul for a decent LTL company and you shouldn't have a problem making $80k+. And then $100k+ after a few years.

Reefers is always good for company drivers. No matter how bad the economy, food stays on the move because people still eat, bad or good economy. Pay might drop for owner-operators, but it won't for company drivers.
