    Hey all,

I'm looking at a lay-off from now until spring. Anybody know what kind of cash jobs are available for trucking in the NJ/Philly area? I was thinking of maybe just going OTR/regional for the next few months too, but not sure if the teamsters would have an issue with that.

Right now, UPS is looking for seasonal drivers for the "peak season". Also most of the mail haulers take on seasonal help for the Christmas rush. You got hazmat and tanker endorsements? Thinking along the fuel business.

Unless the Teamsters are paying your bills while youre laid off, who cares what they do or do not have an issue with.

The Teamsters will yank their pension and if they're already drawing a pension, will make them pay it all back. They did that to Kroger drivers in Nashville when Kroger closed the warehouse there. Some of the drivers had enough time in to retire and did retire. Then when they discovered they couldn't live on the pension, the started driving again. The union found out and made all sorts of threats about yanking their pension and making them pay back any pension money they had already received. I don't know the outcome.

    Unemployment?
And a cash paying construction job.
    Thats what I'd do

Thank you for that tip. I'll reach out to the temp agencies in my area in Monday.
