I have a hand full of shippers that are disappointed with some of there brokers
-
It's a piece of cake.
Until he gets the first guy that doesn't believe you need to spend money on the truck. Or can't drive by a casino without stopping. Or put in that grueling 6 hour day, now it's happy hour. -
Well, either way, good luck. I mean that sincerely.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

I would recommend you start the brokerage but keep your trucks going. It’s not nearly as easy or risk free as people make it out to be.
What happens when someone double brokers and you pay the original “carrier” but they didn’t pay the carrier who actually hauled it?
What about when a load gets damaged and the shipper holds you accountable for the cost and your left to collect from the carriers insurance?
What about when a carrier back solicits your customer and steals your freight out from under you and there is no margin left to lower your price?
Do you have the cash to pay carriers at 21 days while you wait 45 or 60? I say 21 days because the factoring companies expect the payment in hand at 30 from the time the load was delivered yet carrier took a week to get it to them, not to mention time in mail to get there.
Just throwing some things out there. I say go for it but don’t quit your day business until it’s up and going.DSK333 Thanks this. -
I'm already 3 steps ahead of all of those. Thanks

lol ok bud. Good luck. Super broker here you come.

I don't think that he was trying to be rude, I could be wrong but what I get is that he as done is home work which is the right way,
Sirscrapntruckalot, Midwest Trucker and DSK333 Thank this. -
I have made some of my best money from customers, both shippers and receivers who where switching to "more" rail usage.
I would just tell them that when the rail screws you over give me a call. and left them with a handful of business cards.
When the rail didn't show or lost their shipment while it sat on a siding some where for an extra week or two they would call, then it was full standard rate instead of discounted contract rate.DSK333 Thanks this. -
Well, I mentioned some of those things to them and they seemed to think because they aren't in a hurry to move the freight that's all that mattered. You're right though. I say let them go to the rail and deal with can haulers too. They'll be back once they realize they all suck! Sometimes the best lessons learned are taught the hard way.
