SWR to high, cant get it down

    use a ohm meter to see if there is a short in the antenna or in your antenna bracket, either one shorted will kill a radio. also check your coax and make sure it is not shorted out, sometimes a coax can go bad especially cheap coax.

    Don't worry about it. If the external SWR meter showed you at 1.3 your good to go and don't worry about anything else forget the light and the meter in the radio it should be on srf not swr any way and if it bothers you put tape over it. Its there as a toy it means absolutely nothing and has never been calibrated so it just jumps around.

    yeh...'Toys R Us' meter too, but it CAN tell you when something has gone wrong, even if you can't calibrate with it. The light: I dunno. No one seems to pay them any attention for some reason, or at least I don't hear any talk about them.
