A few different things may cause this. If your batteries are about shot is one. The voltage sensing circuit for the TriPac could have corrosion on a terminal, either at the batteries or on the TriPac alternator. How much it runs is also controlled by the programming of the unit itself, by time or voltage. Lastly the unit may be programmed to heat the main truck engine coolant, and on very cold and/or windy nights will run more.

    tscottme and Justrucking2 Thank this.

The company wouldn't have installed an Espar if they didn't want you to use it. You should speak with your company about proper policy regarding use of the equipment. If you are having issues with something, bring it to the attention of your service department.

It is not something you as a consumer can do, it would have to be done at a ThermoKing dealership.

This is true, however your Tripac has a USB cord coming out of it's control box under the passenger side. I've been meaning to plug it in to my laptop and see what happens. I'm sure you need some proprietary software from TK but who knows? I own my truck so I'm not opposed to tinkering with it.
