A few different things may cause this. If your batteries are about shot is one. The voltage sensing circuit for the TriPac could have corrosion on a terminal, either at the batteries or on the TriPac alternator. How much it runs is also controlled by the programming of the unit itself, by time or voltage. Lastly the unit may be programmed to heat the main truck engine coolant, and on very cold and/or windy nights will run more.

The company wouldn't have installed an Espar if they didn't want you to use it. You should speak with your company about proper policy regarding use of the equipment. If you are having issues with something, bring it to the attention of your service department.

When I use my espar I line my bunk with onions , carrots and potatoes by morning I'm ready.
