You know... that's some really good advice right there, and is pretty darn accurate based on my own experiences so far.

Well, here's the thing... it's not so much advice as it is preparation for what's going to eventually happen. You WILL encounter 3 or more at once. The more time on the road you have, the more you can mentally handle. I'll take on 4, but I'm moving slow. And if it's not going to improve soon and I know it, I'm gone. Time to park. My life isn't worth it. Some of these brokers don't give a crap about your issues. But, they are sitting on their fat butts in a comfy chair while you're busting your butt for your family. We will never be appreciated, our tribe will always be persecuted. Brokers and dispatchers can go find a big infected donkey dong and go to town on it.

Thanks @Steelersjunkie. Pretty sure my student that is currently with me has been on 2 lanes more than we've been on the interstate lol. We've been doing alot of LaCrosse to Memphis and Back to LaCrosse. I could very easily have him hop on 30/90 run it south to 39 to 55....instead we take 61 to 80 then go to my house and take hwy 67 from my house down thru White Hall onto 255. So he gets 4.5hrs of 4 lane and 8 on 2 lane hills, curves, towns etc. Now we are headed to GA out of Memphis tomorrow night and he gets to do Monteagle.....and hes not nervous because hes used to the hills on 61 he knows how to stab and use jake...seems like it speaks for itself.

Whee! I get to do Monteagle tomorrow too, with a beer load. At least it's a relatively light beer load (38.5k).

Speaking of beer loads: Do people normally not strap beer loads coming out of Leinenkugel? The security guard seemed surprised when he came back there and I was tightening straps.

Monteagle isn't that bad, truly. There's WAY worse roads. As far as straps go, you gotta watch the pallets. If there aren't any corner guards, you can't strap those loads. You'll break bottles and possibly collapse a pallet. You'll have to use a combination of bars and straps to trap it in the rear.

I used edge protectors like I've done with the City Brewery loads in the past. I'll check it in the morning. Hopefully it's not too ####ed up. Since that brewery is owned by Miller now (heck..my load is Blue Moon) I don't understand why they don't put plastic dividers in these loads.

I strap all beer loads...but hell i watched 1 of our drivers pull out of the dock in Memphis yday, slide tandems and shut doors and leave. No straps or load locks. Braver than I am.

If he straps it in it makes it harder for him to get a beer at the end of the night.

Back a couple of months ago there was a bit of a misunderstanding between me and the shipping clerk in Elkton and I thought I had a dunnage load. So I left there without ever breaking the seal on the load and with only part of the paperwork, and headed to XPO in Albany. I thought it was awfully heavy for a dunnage load but what did I know? I get to Albany, give the girl in receiving my paperwork and she's like "Is this all you got?" It was then that I realized that I may have goofed. She confirms that it was a beer load, so I run out to check the load, expecting to find beer scattered all over the trailer. Fortunately I was gentle enough with that nothing shifted. I had to have Pat get ahold of the people in Elkton to send XPO the rest of the bills, and we were good to go. The beer gods were looking out for me that trip.
