Well I wish I was there!! I'm in Rhode Island for a 10. Not making very much progress on this load I've had since Saturday!! Thank God my company is understanding when it comes to family stuff!!

The steel plant I haul out of still has a Allis Chalmers Transformer outside still in use, big unit.

 

If it's an old one it will still have the AC logo on it. They used to have a plant in Jackson Mississippi where they were built. Hauled transformers out of there back in the 70's. Later stuff was after the merger with Siemans-Allis.

 

Got two loads of bred cows hauled out to the west desert today. On the way home my air compressor almost fell out as I was climbing Parleys. One nut was gone and the other two were real loose.

Wife was with me and held the flashlight while I rooted through my coffee can of nuts and bolts for a replacement.

Just think, if I had a 'real' job I could have called breakdown and crawled in the sleeper while I waited to be rescued.
