Can I go through training with a mega company on a 3 month card?
My situation is I went to a Dot doctor for my physical and had a 96 instead of the below 90 requirement on my blood pressure. A relative passed away the night before my appointment which added to my bp I'm sure. Went to my primary care the next day and got prescribed a low dose blood pressure med. ( my bp was at 90 on that visit). My primary care wants me to just stop by in a month and have his nurse check my bp for follow up. The dot doctor did issue me a 3 month card. I was planning on setting a training date with the recruiter this week since I recently got my cdl learners license back in the mail. I am just trying to get all my ducks in a row so I have no issues throughout the training process. I don't even know if it is possible to start training on a 3 month card? Anyone have anything similar happen?

Have the doctor check your BP again and if it's within range, ask for a one year card.
-
Is a one year card the longest I can get on bp med ?
-
Yes.
Do some brisk walking every day, then quit the BP meds before the next physical. This way you can truthfully say you're not on BP meds and then get a 2 yr. card.Rossman Thanks this. -
Like @Chinatown said, walk every day. And watch your salt intake. Those 2 things alone will have you off meds within a few months unless you smoke.
-
The salt, I forgot about that. Watch the sodium.
-
Caffine intake too.

Come by my house and get one of my nitro tabs and let it melt under your tongue about 30 seconds before your next test! Instant low BP!

It is likely that toxin known as blood pressure med is going to cause side effects. Then you’ll have to take 1,2,or 3 other toxins to offset those side effects.
Read the side effects listed with your blood pressure (medication) toxin. Remember... Every drug is a toxin. Every last one.
Get away from the Medicine Doctors. Find a DOT examiner somewhere else with some intelligence. I found one at a Chiropractic office.

Great advice from all and thank you. I certainly don't want to be on meds forever and would much rather have a two year card. For sure not going the nitro route though lol. ( I know it was a joke) Thanks again.
