Between 10 hour breaks you are on the driving line running your load.
    Aren't you?

You might use PC during your 10 to get to a Walmart or something.
I have only used it on home time to go to the store.

And a lot of it has to do with your company policy.

Legally as much as you want.
But your company may have policies to limit the use.
    Like 25 miles a day or 2 hours a day ect .

I haven’t done a personal conveyance in 4 years so I guess I don’t have a response. I’d say ask your safety person or log auditor.

Their is no limit, if you did a dedicated run every day and parked every day at motel. You could use Personal Conveyance to go get some to eat every day.

If you drive OTR and use Personal Conveyance every day your probably using it wrong. Personal Conveyance is so you can go get something to eat or go to the movies or wash clothes. If you run out of hour at shipper or delivery you can use Personal Conveyance to first safe place to park.

Only use it if it becomes necessary, like the other posters mentioned. Don't use PC to drive from Oklahoma City to Tulsa for example. A driver on TTR admitted to doing that once

I've searched for and have been unable to find any regulations dictating a limit for the distance a driver can travel while under Personal Conveyance.

I think it's left up to CMV enforcement what's a "reasonable" distance.

If you time out at a shipper in Wyoming, the nearest safe place may well be 50 miles away.

If you time out at a shipper near the NY Thruway, 50 miles of PC might well be deemed "excessive".

That's how it was explained to me, and I can't find official guidance to back it up, either.

There is no limit to distance.

When we kept our bobtails on weekends off with pre loaded trailers in the yard, Ive roamed up to 6 states with mine. All PC.

However it is wise to more strictly limit PC to nearest reasonable safe place.

Point I was trying to make was don't abuse it. If you're under a load and you advance it 100 miles, the DOT and/or your company will need an explanation
