Yup. It's great for an emergency stop, which I needed. I hate that place though, for several reasons. The biggest of which is it's in thumper territory. Yuck. Never a good time to be had in thumper land.

    Thumper territory?

I actually secretly like southern Ohio although I don't even really know why. I think it's from where I lived in Point Pleasant for awhile when i was a small child.

Brother, I have a list of places so long it's embarrassing. I've got at least a hundred truck stops in my favorites on Trucker Path. Every time I trip plan and put my destination in that app, I'll have 4-5 hearts pop up on that route. I should probably feel bad about that. Maybe someday...

Yeah man, thumper territory. Bible thumpers. I do my best not to stop in those areas.

I have a HUGE problem with bible thumpers too, but I guess that between growing up in WV and living most of my adult life in most of the south, I've learned to coexist with them. Drives me nuts when they get to talking about that stuff on the CB when you're trying to figure out how to get around a traffic backup, though.

Speaking of traffic backups, there was a nasty accident on I24 west of Chattanooga this afternoon. Truck turned over on top of a pickup truck. At least one fatality. Drivers that saw it said it was one of the worst looking ones they'd seen. It was fun trekking through the woods around it on US11. I'm at the Monteagle Pilot. Ended up not having enough hours to get to the KY Welcome Center where I wanted to stay tonight.

I know you don't like BBQ, but for the other readers out there that do: That little BBQ place behind this Pilot is pretty nice.

Ok, just finished the 2nd week of this dedicated Best Buy run. Last week I was pretty pissed at how the week had gone but had most of last Sunday to think about it. It’s so different from OTR and that’s what had me f’d up. Got my preplan last Sunday afternoon for Monday and thought I’d give it another week. I’m glad I did.

I got to looking at this thing as more of a personal challenge. As I said before, OTR you can fudge on time a little bit but this dedicated stuff is very time critical. Ain’t no taking a nap during the day except when you’re at a store being unloaded. If you’re dispatched on a load, you have to unload the same day, no sitting on a load overnight. It’s fairly lenient on dead heading back to Dublin so you can rest. Tom and Colleen, my B.B. regional dispatchers have this thing figured out, they’re good. You’re going to average 500 miles a day. The Koch loads at B.B. are always ready on time and waiting on you. My fastest dnh was two days ago, Wed. 21 mins I dropped mt, hooked loaded, checked out paperwork and on da road. Phvck yeah!

Here’s the tough part. Any B.B. you deliver to will be in a highly populated metro area that is not truck friendly. I hate running tandems slid all the way up but you have to and still end up jumping curbs. Being in an OTR truck doesn’t help things but I will not give up Miss Emily. You have to go in to the store the right way (never marked) in order to back into the dock. Whoever said parallel parking a truck isn’t necessary is full of ####. Yes, Google Earth helps but it isn’t always up to date. Dumpsters, construction, parked cars are always at the back of these stores. If you go into a store after looking at Google and think this’ll be easy, you better be #### sure you have an alternate plan. It almost bit my ### in Athens GA today.

It’s only going to get worse as the holidays draw near me thinks. Funny that, I’ve always seemed to perform best under pressure. I think I’m gonna stick it out.

@Gremlin304 since you're a WV guy, you owe it to yourself to stop at the TA in Teays Valley/Hurricane. Walk across the street and go to Fat Patty's. If you honestly tell me the food wasn't awesome, I'll personally refund you. Plus, duh, they got beer. And a couple really pretty women working there. Is the truck stop awesome? No. Find me a TA that is. It's a nice port in the WV storm though. That's a drive-through state if I can help it. No good places to park, and way too many door-knockers. It's apparently the WV truck stop specialty.
