I was charged for 2 crimes in 91 and 94, i never attemted to get into the usa from canada during that time.
i just got a pardon for my crimes and now my records should be sealed and able to be viewed by border agents as they can only get the rcmp records of a canadian.
if i keep my mouth shut at the border will i have any problems?

Pete159 your record is only sealed in Canada, these offences were shared with the U.S. when they happened and NEVER come off their computers.:biggrin_25510: DO NOT lie about this to U.S. Imm. it is an automatic refusal of entry.:biggrin_2552:

If the record is not for drugs or violence(I don`t need to know) you should not have a problem. You may be able to apply for a waiver, or if you can get a FAST:biggrin_25519: card you will be ok

    thx for the answers
    my impression is this.
canadian agents can 'only' share info with border guards if someone with a record in canada trys to get across the border.
usa border agents do not have instant access to every canadian once they get charged with an offence.
so border agents only know of an offence if a canadian tries to cross the border with a record.
if a pardon has been granted in canada, the record is sealed, and not able to be accessed by usa border guards as they only have access to federal records, which get sealed after a parden has been granted.
I am 99% certain that canadian criminal records are not just shared with america upon conviction, and only available when someone with a record tries to cross the border.
    Who can confirm this?

Sorry I didn`t sugarcoat my answer Pete159, Don`t expect me to tell you what you want to hear what I told you is from experience, not good enough keep looking until you get the answer you want.

Be sure to post when you get refused entry on info they "can`t" have.

    Good Luck
