I finally ordered webasto bunk heater for now .
Wajid8705 Thanks this. -
....gonna order coolant heater later ...what are the advantages vs disadvantages on using block heater vs coolant heater ? ...not sure if I have block heater ( saw it for sale at 80$ )..I don't have generator , my friend suggested to plug it in inverter ( guessing if the truck will start after draining batteries )

Plug in a battery charger to the inverter, problems solved
tommymonza Thanks this. -
I have my Espar set up on a separate battery that has a solenoid that charges the truck as I go down the road, and shuts off when I shut the truck off. It has run 2 days while at home off this one battery. You could set up 2 batteries and hook up some solar panels to keep them charged up to run the block heated while at home...just an idea. do you have the truck near your house? if so, you could hook up the battery and swing by there a few hours before youre ready to go and turn on the block heater.

My parking probably 6 miles away ...no problem getting generator there , but in case I need to start the truck on the road after night ( I usually don't shut up truck for more than 7-8 hours during my 4-5 days I'm on the road ) , just installed new engine 30k miles ago and want to take proper care of it ( no idling , easy winter starts etc ) ...not sure if idling at 1000rpm harming the engine , usually raise rpm if truck idles for 30-60min ...
