Yeah thats the word from the dispatchers and senior drivers. Because they completely emptied out the system and told customers to go elsewhere, its gonna take a while for business to get back to where it was. We can either file unemployment in the meantime and just wait for the callback, or go get a withdrawal card from the hall and find a job elsewhere and wait til we get a callback.
Its crazy cuz ups freight was in a big hiring cycle this past spring and summer. Now all the sudden, guys are wondering if they'll ever be able to hire all the drivers back.

I think your right. I heard from our sales rep (XPO) that several of your largest customers approached us and fed ex to take over the accounts. We declined because were running at 95% capacity and just can’t handle anymore freight. Not sure if fed ex took any.Mike2633, BigDog Trucker and speedyk Thank this.

You have to understand, even those return-to-work dates were smoke and mirrors by the company. They really wanted to make you feel like you were going to lose something.Midwesttrucker, al_huryn, Mike2633 and 1 other person Thank this.
