How do I know which warehouses to stay away from?

Any warehouse where Capstone is the main player is a good start.

Like on google one needs to read any review with a grain of salt....
Here is a review from he warehouse I pick up at.
"Don't believe dispatch when they tell you to deliver to this place on a Sunday the day before a holiday we got here from Al Paso dispatchers say deliver direct so we did we get here not a sole here someone's paying for our layover 2 days can you say rolling in the money...."

He gave the place one star. Heck, he even admits it's his dispatch that lied to him, not the warehouse. Way too many reviews are like that.

 

True. Only negative reviews are ever posted. Rarely good reviews. Anybody can have a bad day. And any shipper/receiver can have issues for part of a day, and any driver can go in with a bad attitude and get treated accordingly, then they go in and post like it's a crappy place, while 90% who go in there get treated consistently well.

Some also have unrealistic expectations because they are new or coming from a different segment and don't have a good frame of reference yet, and they skew reviews, as well.

 

Most of the ones in Atlanta are full of shh..

Typically if it's in a big city ya gonna wait a while. These people get paid WAY less than we do and some carry resentment. Paid by hour, who cares how long the truck is in the dock..... Type of attitude, I hate it.

To add: diff warehouses have diff procedures, I get that. However, 2 hours should be the max, when you can deliver the same product to middle of nowhere Kentucky/Tennessee and those boys take 44k off in 20 min.

 

Al Paso? is he sure thats where he came ffrom?

 

There was one route I did a couple years back...
Hauling plastic car parts in metal shipping racks. Empty racks back, full rack to the assembly warehouse.
At the shipper (plastic part maker) I literally would back up, the fork truck driver would have the forks sticking outside the dock so as I backed up, the forks slid in the racks. He had the first rack off and setting the dock plate before I set my brakes. It took longer for paperwork (about 5 minutes) than the loaders to unload empties and put on full racks. Driveway to driveway in 20 minutes..

On the other end, it was easily an hour and a half to two hours to unload full racks and put on empties...

 

There is one who verbally abused us as Arkansas Hillbilliys some time ago. This would be the Guinness Ale of NY in a city of Rochester. Off Cataract Road by the river.

I don't hate this facility because it's just a ranting and raving of one Irishman who never really let the British Occupation go in this lifetime. For all we know he's still ranting and raving about that to this day.

Ive only been there 5 times in this lifetime. After his words on the 5th visit we decided we will no longer accept dispatch to that location.

In the other parts of the USA, there are plenty of shippers and recievers who treated us badly in many ways. The ones that are really bad, I make sure to manufactor a situation in which I am personally BANNED from ever going back as long I work for such a such a company.

Some of those bans were lifted decades later when we returned with a totally different company on a load to deliver. They remembered me specifically and after some thought allowed us to proceed to deliver without abuse or trouble. Times do change for the better.

There is no point in doing surveys. If I wanted to do surveys, you will have to pay me 50 dollars an hour to do it. Which I think is not going to happen. Between one hand and medicines plus a number of issues in my body it will take some time to fill those things out. I literally decline to expend the pain and energy to do so.
