Inexperience is almost as dangerous as complacency. At last with those who are inexperienced, they don't know any better.

THAT is a real problem slowing to 10 when there is nothing to justify it.
In Montana near Billings for example we do the opposite when the accumulations begin on the interstate. Roaring down at 80+ using the Air pressure off the front bumper to BLAST a clear lane for everyone else. BOOM you have a nice clear black lane and half. Other truckers BOOM the highway clear for the time being.
Eventually that night it got to a foot and change of wet sloppy slush, not the best for traction near Billings. I ended up stopping for the night sleeping in what was essentially a 4 way stop next to a small truckstop with like 50 others. (That was interesting. We filled the street two ways and the police did not care. As long people could come and go)
By morning it's two feet and quit snowing with the Continental Divide still to go in the east. To me that's a pretty good pull and nothing to fool with eastbound.
But you cannot be at 10 mph when there isnt anything on the pavement yet. It's silly. And stupid actually dangerous.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Slow down, drive safe. There's no excuse f flying because of a delivery. It can wait.

The ones that get me are the ones doing 45 on a 55 MPH 2 lane, because of bad weather. That's fine, until a town comes along, and the speed limit drops to 45. Then they drop to 35, when 45 was fine on the same road a minute ago.....
