i had (and still do) great credit, very good references and a very good work history, EXCELLENT DAC, when DAC meant something, excellent DMV report. so i signed up for the lease purchase plan. as a result i had more than enough for a down payment (actually even more money available) on a NEW truck, i think all they had then was Freight shakers.

but a gal in the finance dept said, you do not qualify for a new truck, but we have some great trucks at or about 500,000 miles.

i questioned her reasons for me not being able to get a new truck, with all i had.

she would not go any further but to push an older very used truck on me.

i told her to go stick it up her........

and i hung up. as i need not be playing games

about 1 to 2 months later, Don Freymiller himself, co-sign all the loans for BRAND NEW trucks, for student drivers.....!!!!!!!!!

then he filed bankruptcy i think? and moved out of CA....

so Donny boy can go and stick it as well, far up his.........

I think the biggest reason Freymiller left California was worker compensation laws. Also Don was sued for discrimination and lost. Story goes he let a mechanic borrow $200 because his father was dying in Arizona. Another mechanic came later on and asked for $200 in car parts. Don said "no". The next thing he knew he was being sued for discrimination.

personally, i'd lend money to the guy with the dying father, mother, etc.

the car parts, well.....a mechanic can fix his own car with duct tape and bailing wire and a frostee freeze....
