No that is it. We are starting to catch up. Cullman was open last week but I guess they are staffed. We are adding 12 more so we are still up.
I would watch for Cullman or Opelika depending on where you live. Or Hoptown. -
Thanks. I live about 6 miles from the Cullman DC.
Isn`t the Opelika DC a grocery DC? I thought SWIFT & MARTEN were doing the grocery divisions. -
Yes and no. Opelika, New Albany, Shelbyville are all HVDC (grocery or high volume distribution centers) Opelika and New Albany have Walmart domiciled drivers as well.
Swift and Marten have a few DCs but we have a bunch of companies under contract at different locations. -
I would add keep a watch out. That req may have closed but another may pop up there next week.

If you get in after a year you can put in for a transfer. Good folks in Opelika. Even have a small gym for drivers.
Good luck. -
When Knight bought Swift a lot of the Walmart stuff went away. Because Walmart wouldn’t do business with Knight? Nope. Because Swift was keeping most of those Walmart accounts making the same .80 per mile that they had always been getting on the accounts and operating at a loss.
-
They were not getting $.80 a mile. The total contract did not just involve routes and mileage. It included maintaining equipment, management of routes and facilities.
Truck stop counter talk that they got $.80 mile. Now they were low, but not the lowest. However except for a couple dcs they had the absolute worse LOS. Still do in Brundidge last I heard.
