I depends on the jurisdiction. I'd have them on their own switch, if someone says something, turn the switch off. Maybe have the fuse easily available and pull it to make them happy.

I run blue lights behind my cab all the time, no issues. Waiting to get the underbody light kit to install next. I run washington to California every week.

I have ran red under my bunk and trailer tandams as well as behind my front bumper since before LEDS. I have had blue in the grills of both breathers for several years. Someone might tomorrow but so far no one has ever said anything to me about it

My understanding is they're legal. But you can't have them on while rolling. Only when parked for show n tell.
Might Google the laws. States will ticket you for having them on. Mine is one of them. -
Go through a Virginia scale house and they will make you cut the wires on the spot before you leave. I know.
