    1. What is the maximum legal weight for Tri-Axle Dump Truck in FL?
    2. What is the maximum legal weight for an End Dump Truck without a permit in the state of FL?
    3. What is the maximum legal weight for an End Dump Truck if you have an overweight permit in the state of FL?
    4. What is the maximum legal weight you can haul on the interstate in the state of FL?
    5. Are you required to have an Inner Bridge Permit if you possess an Overweight Permit?
    6. What else are you required to obtain with an Overweight Permit (this must be attached to the permit?

To the best of my knowledge 80,000 is the GVW. I've seen in Florida Highway Safety Manual 70,000 for Tri-Axle Dumps but I want to be sure. I can't find anything specific for End Dump trucks and Florida specific to my questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will probably call Florida's permit office or the DOT if I can't find answers. Thank you to anyone in advance for answers.

End dumps would depend on axle setup and spreads I imagine. I don't know about Florida but where I am less than 3 axles on an end dump is pretty rare and 5 isn't uncommon.

Can you tell me what it is for 2 and 3 axle with say a 36 ft spread? Wouldn't it be 80,000 anyway since it's a federal standard? I dont know it's why I'm asking.

Call the Motor Vehicle Commercial Enforcement Office with your stack of questions.

The Maximum Legal Gross Weight of a particular vehicle can be discovered on the weight stamped rating on either the Door Jamb, the Floor Pan, Glove Box inner lid, the Trailer's Registration plate, engine plate etc. Or... get the VIN and contact the factory with that vin and ask the particulars. Excluding florida for the moment.

Ask dot. Sounds crazy but they will try and answer your question. But only if your stuff is legal. I just got a ticket in FL. 48 feet from kingpin to rear axle is max. With 44 max on the back axles. But when you get to GA. It all changes

Many 53 foot trailers contain a 48' mark right about 5 feet inside the doors on the sides.

It was not that long ago when I had 20 foot, then 40's then 45's and finally 48's The real difference between 48's and 53 is literally two pallets on the floor or stacked twice per ton each by weight max.

Since most new tractors are getting obese and can only carry 45K in a dane reefer, one must consider getting out of the 53's and back to the 48's The only possible improvement now in trucking would be a addition of a tag axle to tractors ahead of the tandem drives plus a tag axle on the trailer tandem set also cut forward of the Trailer tandems and about 5 feet sliced from the skirts which I consider to be a limitation factor when getting across railroad tracks or high centering on crowns of roads unable to clear the skirts.

You do realize that those questions are not complete in enough information to be answered. Even the dump truck question lacks front axle and information on tire width.
    Axle spreads are not included.
    And so much more.
If those are the questions they asked you in a test, I hope you wrote beside each one. "MORE INFORMATION REQUIRED "

We do something like this straight from the ministry. (Our version of DOT)
This is one for the pony pup unit I run in kilograms. They measure everything and write it up so there is no doubt.
