Man, what a weird day. Definitely my strangest since I got behind the wheel. Just hauled a load from Durham NC to Morgantown WV. When I got to the final, they rejected the load, sight unseen. Never broke the seal or removed my padlock. I was given two options by the broker. Sit and wait for a repower, or take the load back to the shipper. Either way I'd have to cancel my next load. So, I'm now yanking this dam load back to NC. I'm getting paid the same for both trips, so that's a plus I suppose. And it's a light load, so that's a plus. The only bummer is I was gonna grab a quick reset at home and grab my next load. I still need that reset, but it'll have to wait a day. Already booked another load for Monday morning. So now, to hunt for a truck stop with a decently close bar to do my reset. If I'm gonna burn a day and a half for the DOT, might as well enjoy it. Besides, gotta find a spot to watch my boys on Sunday since I'm now unexpectedly free. Hey @MIT I have been finding a ton of available freight, so I'm not coming home. Feel free to call when you're home. Believe it or not, there are loads picking up and delivering on Turkey Day. This is a nice change, for sure. No more sitting at home by force due to lack of freight. Can I get an Amen, y'all. Looks like there are companies out there who actually want to make money instead of shutting down for 4 days. Bah Humbug, screw the holidays. I'll be paddling my wallet while everyone else gets fatter and watches college ball (which I detest). Hope y'all had a good day. Be safe if you're running in my area. The weather is getting squirrelly in the mountains. I got passed by a Millis truck yesterday morning in WV. I should say it FLEW by and I'm completely shocked I didn't see him/her on their side a few miles down the road. Frozen rain was coming down and the roads were slick. Have fun, cowboy. Your days are clearly numbered. These hills are very unforgiving.

Here is some more advice for you guys currently in training or school or whatever. When on a load going home for hometime or vacation....always expect something to happen to #### up your plan. Stuff always seems to happen on hometime loads. Here we sit on the side of hwy18 outside Streator IL, 2 hours from my house, and we are waiting on roadside to come fix our flat trailer tire....I love my job...I love my job....I love my job....
Farmer54 Thanks this. -
Gotta love super singles. Sorry about your day, man. That sucks. If it makes you feel any better, I missed out on a stop home as well. Gotta love trucking.

Ya I should've known something was going to happen. Managed to miss all the snow and ice thru Indiana and Ohio yday. Then was pre planned on load from Lebanon Oh but appt wasnt till 6pm after delivering in Columbus at 7am...well we were on our way there to see if maybe theyd load us early(10am) and we get msg saying your load is ready can go get loaded now...sweet!! So now instead of getting home super late tonighy/early morn we were going to be home by 7 30pm....well now we arent lol

That really sucks, I'm so sorry man. Whoever invented those tires needs to die in a fire. Always hated them, always will. Only person I hate more than that guy is every person at every trucking company who looked at those and thought "Hey! What a great idea! Let's put those on our trucks!".

Hey, we did that Wednesday in Tennessee ourselves. Completely ruined our HoS plan for final delivery and screwed up the rest of our week.
Like SJ said, super singles are awesome. -
You mean you don't like that Pilot on Goshen Road? I know that I don't.
Did they tell you why it was rejected? That's strange. I'm presuming you are still getting paid for it?Steelersjunkie Thanks this. -
Dumbest idea ever conceived.

Ugh that sucks. I thought it was bad enough when Pat says "Find an empty and then head home" but there are no empties and I live way too far from a terminal to BT home and then BT back when I'm done. Had to wait a couple of hours but he had somebody coming to Trenton give me their empty.Steelersjunkie Thanks this.
