That's what I'm hoping to do however to "change" delivery you have to use the barcode off the delivery notice. And there's the problem, no delivery notice so no way to authorize them to leave it at the office. All the very "unhelpful" lady on the phone would offer was I should have made those arrangements with the shipper prior to ordering it.

I'm not sure who I despise worse, UPS or OnTrac but thankfully I don't think I'll have to deal with OnTrac here in Texas. The ones delivering around Washington didn't speak a word of English, drove very beat up Chrysler mini-vans with a sticker on the hood and here's the best part, guaranteed delivery on XX/XX day is by midnight. The second time they showed up at my house in Arlington at 11:00pm beating on the door with a package they were met with a pipe that strangely enough had a diameter of .45" and a chunk of frangible lead at the other end of it with a few grams of cordite behind it. He didn't speak English but he got the point of my words that they were not to come near my door after 7:00pm ever again.

At least your taking something, I get to bounce 1000 miles back to where I just left noon yesterday with no trailer. So everything in the bunk will be unceremoniously relocated to the floor and up between the seats. But I get paid by the mile, those will be easy miles albeit a little rough.

Oh they understand a lot. One night I went to the trailer park by the Tyson chicken plant where all the Mexicans lived. They would all rent a trailer and stay together, about 100 trailers in all. We had a call that there was a disturbance over there, so I went and tried to convey that they needed to turn the mariachi music down a little and stay in their yards and get out of the street. I try to give people the option to act right if I possibly can.

It wasn’t too long after I left that I got another call about a fight. There were corona bottles all over the place and a bunch of amigos in a brawl. So I arrested four of them and tried to ID them. None of them spoke English. Ok, no big deal, cash bond or you will sit there and serve your time out.

I get to the jail and line them all up against the wall. I inform the jailer that they are all under arrest for disorderly conduct and none of them speak English. He says “that’s ok I speak Spanish.” I said “oh you do?” He said “yep, watch”. He walks by them and says “hey, you dropped a dollar” and all four of them started looking on the ground, LOL.

On a related note, I knew a small town cop who would pull a carload of illegals over. When they said they didn’t understand English, he would say “you understand flashlight?” And then raise his maglight up to them like a baseball bat:eek: He is a preacher now, I’d hate to not pay tithe in that church.

Well, Thompson was a treat. 4 hours from The Pas, an hour and a half to unload and an hour and 15 minutes waiting for security to get their #### together and escort me to the #### bin (the receiver didn't even check the #### seals, he said, here's the hookup, don't push too hard).

Nobody seems to communicate at that mine, and I was TWENTY MINUTES short of getting home tonight. Oh well, I'm rolling at 4:15am tomorrow and will be in the yard around 6. Sucks, but I'll take a hot meal with a 24 hour service station to being as close as possible.

The "sunrise" today was extra special. Being north of the 55th parallel, you don't really get much "daylight" inasmuch as a perpetual sunrise/sunset.

Fortunately didn't see any wildlife other than a bunch of crows and ravens (always see them on the road) and a bunch of very cold looking pheasants that didn't feel like leaving the road as I drove by. Unfortunate for them. :(

The ujoints are ok. Especially newer low rpm with higher torque engines. But I've seen alot fail. Mostly because nobody checks them since they don't need greased.

Been a rough week in the truck. Trying to learn chemicals from a guy they call sarge isn’t easy. Have yet to get into a rhythm.
