Yes, getting paid for both the delivery (which never happened) and the return. Not familiar with that Pilot to be honest. I am going to deadhead a ridiculous amount to got to the closest decent spot where I can both enjoy a 34 and catch the game on Sunday. I won't disclose the miles because I don't really wanna hear the flack that will surely come. It's been a long and tiring week, and my give-a-crap gauge is on empty. I'm gonna go enjoy this reset.

That's pretty awesome man. Sucks that you had to wait, but it's cool that he was looking out for you. Always liked Pat. Good dude.

Don’t feel bad 3 of the last 4 times I’ve been across Montana the last month I’ve been inspected.

Well finally made it home....3hrs later than expected but home. And home until November 26 its going to be a nice lil break away from the truck and training. Ive had a student in my truck every week but 2 I believe since July 1....and 2 more weeks for the current 1 and already scheduled for my next 1 right after he gets out...I can use the break lol

Also helps knowing when I get back in the truck on the 26th I'm making 3cpm more than today, and possibly 6cpm more. Will def make it easier getting back into the truck lol

Hope everyone has a good holiday.

Yeah he looks out for us I was getting desperate enough that I was thinking about seeing if he would let me go down to St. Bernard and grab one from there. Sitting and waiting was definitely the better option of those two

I'm home all this week as well. All you guys staying out through the holiday should have plenty of freight to keep you busy.

“They’re lighter. We can get more freight on the wagon.”

I'm definitely noticing the weight difference. I won't take loads over 44k in this truck. With Millis I've done 47. I understand where they're coming from with those singles but the aren't financially viable unless all the drivers in your stable are experienced. But since they are a teaching company, you're going to lose tires and rims. Plus roadside repair charges on top of that. The idea of it makes me shudder. The tires are the same price as two singles, pretty much. So there's one con. The rims are crazy expensive if you ruin one. I've seen prices around $2k. There's another check in the con column. I had a mechanic at a Loves tell me that roadside adds another $300 to the bill, plus a higher labor rate than the normal shop rate. I challenge anyone to tell me that a few extra thousand pounds of freight is worth all that. It's not like the load is gonna pay any better. It's just a truck company bending over for a customer that has a large amount of steady freight and they are making you beg for it. And they are making you a slave to unrealistic schedules. That's what middle fingers are for. When you hear a driver say "I won't haul cheap freight" they aren't being a snob or a show off. Hauling cheap freight hurts all of us. It drives revenue down by establishing a precedent that companies will cut their own throats for steady freight. Do you, Boo. That kinda livin ain't for me.

I accidentally stumbled upon the greatest road stop I've seen since I started. I'm gonna have to find loads down here. Y'all can keep that barbecue place you like in Hayti. This is my new Mecca for road food. Good lord man. It ain't even right how good my taste buds feel right now. Like a night of coked-up Vegas debauchery.
