Just replaced mine a couple months ago. Luckily I was at home empty when it gave up. 905k miles, I guess I can't complain.

I never knew you could re-pack them. Heck I never even noticed that little plug on the yoke you can remove and replace with a grease zerk until mine gave up. I might have gotten 2 million out of it had I noticed that earlier.1951 ford, ShooterK2, jamespmack and 14 others Thank this. -

We run into it in construction to, people will argue about closing a road or stopping them. Best I ever saw was a woman at a Walmart, we were attempting to take down a billboard and was having trouble with the crane, we had jib in it and boomed it down to zero to work on the head section. The way we were set up we closed off a road, it was parking lot so it was no big deal. We were backing a step in so we could stand on it to work, there was a woman that drove right under the jib, I told her she couldn’t go that way and she kept saying “you and the mutha ###### poeleese” I said go ahead and guided the step back in, when she realizes she’s trapped she comes back even madder. I said “I ain’t the motha ###### poeleese”. Long story short a Pontiac Grand am will apparently go over a curb and through a ditch.
