Knight took over ...
-
I always have to call to get dispatched on my next load
-
One more for the “I almost never get auto dispatched” crowd. Not lately, anyhow.
-
I wish they would fix it. Such a pain having to send a message each time.
-
Aside from that, I had a nice day.
Delivered a load to Home Depot in Tolleson this morning and then picked up a Walmart blitz load at the terminal. An easy drop 50 miles away, with no hook. I needed to shop at Walmart, so it was perfect. I even found a good bag of big potatoes.
Then I went back to the terminal for another t-called load going to Hurricane, UT.
All drops with no empties all day, and it was wonderful.
I'm skimming my 70 hour clock right now, and this load has me going west on US 60 and then US 93 up to Las Vegas. I shut down at a small rest area on US 60 a bit out of Phoenix with 1 hour left. -
Tumwater wa at the pilot. Fueled and doing my 10 hr break.
Have a 9am appt in Tacoma 35 miles away then final has a 1200 appt time.
Qualcomm acting up again all last week. Keeps shutting down when I am driving and starts back up when it feels like it
Got parked and saw that the slots was only showing my fuel time and off duty time when I got here.
Has me on a 7 day clock and showing no time on the clock. Graph is empty except for fuel time and off duty time.
Turned main power switch off for 20 minutes and didn't do anything. Called jurupa and he didn't know anything.
So unplugged power cable from black box and turned main power switch off. Went in and took a shower and replugged it back in and still nothing
So I logged myself of the Qualcomm for a few minutes and logged back in. That fixed it.
Gonna have to get to Sumner terminal after my deliveries and see if they can replace the black box.
Pretty sure they are closed tomorrow -
Btw... I have been writing the turn by turn directions on paper in case Qualcomm goes out. It has done it before.
Old school trip planning. 'realize how spoiled we are when the electronics go out -
Changing the QC unit may not change much. I have done it before and still have some of the same problems.
The last time it lost 3 days of log entries. It showed me 78 hours straight on the drive line.
I was told to send in the paper logs to update things, but I don't do paper unless I think something is amiss. I ended up doing a 34 to get my time back to normal.
I was told that everything would be saved and updated, but it didn't happen.
They will replace the QC with a 'refurbished' unit, but it may still have problems.
I'm not sure, but I think they just reload the software and go from there. If there is a hardware problem it won't be fixed.
Shoddy tech support at it's worst.
It is like you are calling tech support and getting someone in the far east.
They read from a script, but have no real understanding of the problem or how to fix it.
That is why I don't request another QC unit. I have learned how this one messes up and can deal with it. No telling how a 'new' unit might end up.dptrucker Thanks this. -
I actually got auto-dispatched last night after I MTed out at Costco in Las Vegas. When I dropped at the Costco DC in Tolleson earlier today I got a message saying I had to call in to be dispatched on my next Costco load.
Headed to Albuquerque tomorrow for an 8:00 PM delivery. I have home time scheduled for Wed the 21st. Problem is I don't have enough hours on my 70 to make it from Phoenix to Albuquerque and back until I get some hours back on Wednesday.
No, I'm not on Costco dedicated.
